(not spesifically for) christian parents

At first, I thought I can just browse for any song file in youtube - and then show it to any kid.

However, after watching one of the files I get to think that not all of those so-called-and-labeled as shows for children are actually suitable FOR children. One of them, for instance, is a song published in The Muppet Show (sang by the Muppets and the respected Mr. Harry Belafonte) in which they sang a traditional African song. Although the song itself is highly artistic, both audio and visually, I might add, I couldn't agree to the content of the song. Sadly, the song is not a kind of song which is correct in the Bible's point of view.

Note: you can browse for Mr. Harry Belafonte - Turn The World Around's Lyrics in
here

If you listened carefully, the underlying thought of this song is to think that we (human) are made from water, fire, mountain and spirit. Not created by God according to His image. And although I am no biblical scholar, but I think that is one issue I should be careful to teach to any child. I mean, I don't think I want to end up indirectly teaching a child that they are not created by God. As a Christian, I know I am not supposed to do that.

Ok. Then what?

After watching for myself that particular audio-visual file from youtube, I decided that I shall watch and sort before I show any audio-visual file to a child. Heehee..

PS: This post is written because of my dearest nephew, Tongam, who is currently showing great interest in watching any (read: every) audio-visual medias; and who will immediately reacts by waving his hands up and down, smiling and (sometimes makes a funny sounds) each time he watch an audio-visual media.

PPS: Good luck for you christian parents out there! :)
